Student Council Fundraiser for hurricane victims

Dear Diamond Community,

This year, the Student Council is organizing a fundraiser to support the victims affected by the terrible disasters that have hit parts of our country. For one, Hurricane Harvey caused devastation, destroyed homes, and affected thousands of families. Fewer than two weeks ago, Hurricane Irma hit Florida, flooding cities on the coast. Two more hurricanes: Jose and Maria, have wrecked havoc on other cities as well.

With all these people affected by the storms, the Diamond community is ready to help! The Student Council members, with the support of the Diamond PTA,  are selling drawstring bags to raise money for classrooms in these communities. The bag features an image of the Diamond Drum and cost $10. An image of the bag is attached below. You can purchase as many bags as you’d like, or you can donate directly through the links and QR code below. All proceeds will go directly to classrooms in need through an organization called DonorsChoose. As a group, we will choose projects posted by teachers and schools in affected areas.  ( Support a classroom. Build a future.)

The Diamond Student Council is a group of students dedicated to making positive change, not only at Diamond, but also in the Lexington community and throughout our world. With your support, together we can make a difference!

Student Council members will be present during Back to School night, so please stop by and ask us any questions.
