Announcements from Diamond PTA

PTA Announcements: welcome, thank you and other changes!

Please join us in welcoming our PTO Board members for 2019/2020: Jeanine Ferrick, Jennifer Ray, Jade Han, and Ravi Gudipathi.

With much sadness we must say farewell to our outgoing PTA Board members. Thank you all for everything that you have done as wonderful representatives of Diamond Parents over the last few years, especially Karen Griffiths, Sarah Kuli, Craig Sandler, Kelly Littlewood, Marie-Tristan Rago, and PK Shu.

Diamond PTA will be transitioning to Diamond PTO over the summer. So be on the lookout for an official announcement in mid-August, which will contain pertinent information about our updated website and email address.

We wish all Diamond Parents and Students a wonderful summer break. Enjoy!

Diamond School Site Council - the results are in!

Congratulations to Nancy Cowen, Dongzi Yu, and Kar Hwee Koh for their election to the Diamond School Site Council! We are very grateful to everyone who volunteered to run for the position for their willingness to work on behalf of our students and school.

LHS Parent Discussion Group (for 8th Grade parents)

Every Thursday morning during the school year, LHS parents meet and discuss issues that will help their children get the most of their LHS experience.  The regular group will start up again with the first meeting at LHS in early September (8/27 school starts for 9th grade and new students, 8/28 is the first day of school for all students K–12).  If you would like to join the group, please email either Suzanne Lau (outgoing coordinator and moderator) or Jen Roney (new group coordinator).

Summer meet-ups at Panera

Over the summer, the group will be meeting at Panera for bi-weekly coffees on Thursdays 6/27, 7/11, 7/25, 8/8 and 8/22.  These summer meetings at Panera will nominally start at 9am and run until late morning.  This is an unhosted event so the email list is open.  Meet-ups are informal; feel free to send a group email if you plan to attend or would like to meet earlier (or later) if there is interest.  The summer group welcomes both current and alumni LHS parents. We try to sit at one of the larger tables in the front room - but check the back as well if it's busy.  Again please email either Suzanne Lau suzanne_lau_65@yahoo.comor Jen Roney to be added to this list.

Support your Local Movie House - They Support Us!

The recent screening of "Annie Jr." at the LexMedia facility for cast and crew was a great success, in no small part because of the REAL MOVIE POPCORN donated by the Venue.   Thanks to them!  And remember to think of the Venue first on movie night!

Volunteer Opportunities

We are recycling and composting in Diamond's cafeteria EVERY DAY!

There is still one slot left on June 17!  Each day 2 stations require 2 parent volunteers to help direct students and student volunteers. It's easy--and a great way to see what goes on in the Diamond cafeteria at lunchtime.

Sign up for a June shift here

If you have not volunteered before, please indicate this when you sign up - any questions please email . Please note all volunteers must have an up to date CORI check on file. You can find out more about the Lexington Green Teams at our website.
