Small Ways to Make a Big Difference
Diamond thrives because of the time, energy, creativity, and support of our parent community — and we truly believe there’s a place for everyone to get involved.
At Diamond, we know families are busy. That’s why we’re working hard to make PTO involvement:
Flexible
Collaborative
Manageable
Community-driven
And yes… even fun
Some parents help year-round. Some volunteer occasionally. And some families support the PTO financially through memberships and donations — which is just as important.
PTO Memberships fund:
Student socials & community events
Teacher grants & staff appreciation
After-school Clubs
And all the little extras that help make Diamond feel connected, welcoming, and fun
Some families volunteer their time.
Some support financially.
Some do both.
All of it matters.
WAYS PARENTS HELP AT DIAMOND
Event Helpers - Socials, Movie Nights, Celtics Events, setup, check-in tables, decorations, snack runs
Hospitality Helpers - Teacher appreciation lunches, coffee/snack donations, desserts, setup & cleanup
Behind-the-Scenes Helpers - Newsletters, spreadsheets, PTO email, signups, website updates
Green Team Helpers - Helping students sort compost/recycling and supporting sustainable events
One-Time Volunteers - Event volunteer (chaperone/setup/cleanup), Cookie Dough Fundraiser money counting, graduation support
Community Connectors - Helping welcome families, spread the word, and keep people informed
Volunteering Doesn’t Have to Be a Huge Commitment
We intentionally broke larger PTO jobs into smaller, more manageable ways to help. No one is expected to do everything alone.
Whether you have:
20 minutes once a month
A creative skill
Spreadsheet energy
Snack energy
Organizing superpowers
Event enthusiasm
Or simply want to stay informed…
there’s probably a place for you here.
Meet Some of the Diamond PTO Team
Olivia Kelley – PTO Strategy & Community Director
Many families will likely recognize Olivia from LexFUN!, the Fiske PTO, coaching soccer/baseball/flag football around town, at various Lexington community events, or as Lexington Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.
Olivia helps coordinate PTO strategy, administration communication, fundraising, community outreach, and volunteer support – while trying to make PTO involvement feel collaborative, manageable, and fun.
Also strongly believes PTO meetings should include good snacks.
Andre Klamas - Treasurer
Andre oversees PTO budgeting, accounts, reimbursements, and financial planning. We’re incredibly lucky to have him helping guide the PTO’s finances — he’s organized, thoughtful, and fantastic to work with.
Andre would love a few teammates to help support smaller finance tasks throughout the year.
Candice Del Rio, Liz Dang Ryan & Hugo Valdovines - Events Team
Our amazing events crew helping organize:
6th Grade Welcome Social
Celtics Events
Movie Nights
Cookie Dough Fundraiser
End-of-Year Socials
8th Grade Graduation Celebrations
They’re always looking for teammates to help with small pieces of events throughout the year.
Megan Hattori – Green Team
Megan leads Diamond’s Green Team and helps students build sustainable habits during school and PTO events.
This is a wonderfully low-key volunteer opportunity for anyone interested in helping supervise compost/recycling stations during small event shifts - and maybe unobtrusively peek in on your middle schooler while you’re there.
Flexible Ways to Get Involved

Prefer to Support From the Sidelines?
We get it. Many Diamond families choose to support the PTO primarily through memberships and donations - helping fund events, grants, student programming, and community experiences throughout the year. It’s one of the simplest and most impactful ways to support the school community.
